Holistic Therapy
What is Holistic Therapy?
Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why my approach to therapy is holistic—meaning we look at you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms or a diagnosis. I honor the connection between your mind, body, emotions, relationships, and nervous system, and how each of these parts may have been impacted by past experiences, especially trauma.
Holistic therapy looks at the whole person—mind, body, spirit, and environment—while honoring the ways that personal history, family dynamics, and broader life systems shape our experiences. I believe healing is not just about symptom relief; it’s about reconnecting with your most authentic self and creating space for lasting change.
Trauma and stress can echo across generations, but they don’t have to define your story. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or relationship challenges, my approach is grounded in deep listening, compassion, and respect for your unique journey.
Trauma Informed Care
From a trauma-informed lens, holistic therapy means:
Understanding how trauma affects the whole person
Trauma doesn’t just live in the mind—it can show up in the body, in relationships, in how safe or unsafe the world feels.
Listening to the body as part of the story
Many trauma survivors feel disconnected from their bodies or overwhelmed by physical sensations. Together, we gently explore how to reconnect with your body in a way that feels empowering, not re-traumatizing.Supporting regulation, not reactivation
We move at your pace. Tools like breathwork, mindfulness, grounding, and somatic awareness can help you stay connected and calm as we explore deeper work.Honoring your inner wisdom
You are the expert on your experience. Holistic therapy invites your intuition, your values, and your voice into every session.
A Personalized, Integrative Approach
Together, we’ll explore new perspectives, reframe old narratives, and open space for growth and healing. My holistic approach blends traditional talk therapy, mindfulness, and somatic awareness with evidence-based practices to support your emotional and psychological well-being.
Some of the modalities I draw from include:
Mindfulness-Based Practices – to help you build present-moment awareness, regulate your nervous system, and stay grounded
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – to support values-based living and develop more flexibility in how you respond to life’s challenges
Internal Family Systems (IFS) – to explore and compassionately connect with the different “parts” of yourself, especially those formed in response to pain or trauma
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – to identify, challenge, and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck
These modalities are not one-size-fits-all. I tailor them to meet you where you are—supporting you in discovering what works best for you at this point in your life.
More Than Just Talk Therapy
While talk therapy can be incredibly powerful, healing often involves more than just words. That’s why I incorporate somatic awareness (listening to the body's cues), mindfulness, and other embodied practices to help you tune into the wisdom of your nervous system. This integration of body and mind can be especially helpful when working through trauma, anxiety, and stress-related concerns.
Including EMDR as Part of a Holistic Framework
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is specialized modality that I may offer as part of a holistic treatment plan. It’s particularly effective for clients who are carrying unresolved trauma or distressing life experiences. If you're curious about it, we’ll discuss your history and needs to determine whether it’s a good fit for you. Building trust and ensuring safety is always the first step. You can learn more about EMDR here: EMDR Therapy.
